TACTILE × Time Lag Design
A project that reinterprets carpet offcuts as “soft structures.” A collaboration with HOTTA CARPET.
Material that would normally be discarded as production waste carries accumulated time — we treat that time as the starting point of a new structure. Cord embroidery, punching and eyelets, cord connections, tape braiding: several fabrication methods are being explored in parallel.
“Connection becomes Design” — treating connection, binding, tension, repair, and temporary fixing — structures that are usually hidden — as design itself.
By making the joints the protagonist instead of hiding them, the traces of materials “meeting” remain on the surface. This is the studio’s core idea — the act of editing time — practiced at the level of material.
